Angela Rabing (M.A.) is a research associate in film studies at the Institute for Art History – Film Studies – Art Education at University of Bremen since 2017. She studied Media and Communication and completed her master’s degree at Ruhr-University Bochum in Media Studies with a thesis on effects of temporal realism in fictional films and the influence of documentary practices. Her current doctoral project investigates the aesthetics of cinematic realism under the terms of digitisation, focussing on feature and documentary films shot with digital devices. Her areas of research include cinematic realism, digital film, documentary film, smartphone film and queer cinema.
