Documenting Nazi Crimes through Soviet Film

As part of the project Visual History of the Holocaust (VHH), researchers conducted several viewing sessions in archives in Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia and Russia. This greatly expanded the corpus of Soviet film footage the public usually is familiar with. The authors of the 6th issue of Research in Film and History seek to situate a visual analysis of that footage within contexts of de-occupation, war crime investigations and political pressure.
