The international DFG Research Network “New Directions in Film Historiography. Digital Tools and Methods in Film and Media Studies” explores how digital technologies shape our understanding of film and cinema history from a media studies perspective. In cooperation with the Digital Academy in Mainz and the JGU Master “Digital Methods in the Humanities and Cultural Studies” (tbc), the workshop aims to examine the nature of data sets and their genesis in film and media studies. Ingo Zechner contributes the approaches developed in the course of the VHH project.
